Second Opinion Ultra Sound / 7w1d

I went to a local OB/GYN clinic. He completely understood my desire for a second opinion before heading home for the holidays and was very accommodating. They had a very fancy new u/s machine - fancier than the RE - considering the small town they are in. What a nice man he was. I think I'll return to him.

But enough waxing; the second opinion was not much different than the REs assessment last week at 6w3d. The heartbeat is strong he noted (but didn't measure). The CRL is still one week behind, but it has grown since last week. Today it is measuring 6w1d and 6 days ago it was 5w3d. So the good news is as follows: It's still alive, it's growing, and it's got a good heartbeat. Bad news: it's a week behind and below the 'safe zone'. Rx: wait and see.

Hmmm....wish you could get more reassuring news right before the holidays, but i'm glad that the embryo is holding steady with its heartbeat and is continuing to grow. Hang in there. I am wishing you the best for this pregnancy.

Hang in there. That's got to be the toughest thing to wait for.

it was good that you saw it's still alive and that it grew, although still behind schedule. S/he is growing. Hold on to that now.
Thank you for thinking of the wine, flowers and company. :)) that was very sweet.
DH sure enough gave me the wine. He needed it too. ;)

I am sorry it wasn't more concrete news, but I am so very happy it wasn't 'bad' news either.

Thinking of you in the coming days...

You have seen substantial growth from your last appointment and that's always a good thing. The heart is still beating and the little guy or girl is still hanging on. The waiting is the worst but I have a feeling things are going to work out. Take Care!

Hey Virginia, I was hoping you could have gotten better news before the holidays. But the good news is that the baby is growing. Just take care and rest well despite the busy holidays. Enjoy yourself but not too much yeah? Hang in there babe. I am sure everything will work out for the best ok.

Oh Virginia, I wish you had gotten some better news. I can't even imagine what is going through your head but hopefully you're able to stay peaceful. Things could just be off to a slow start. If you need to talk you can call my office line; I'm around. Much much love,

I'm so glad you went for a 2nd opinion. At least now you're not doubting whether the first guy knew his stuff.

At least there's growth and a heartbeat and who knows, you could be one of those stats who goes on to have a "normal" pregnancy!

Merry Christmas :)

Oh sweetie. I'm sorry that the news isn't quite what you've hoped for. I'm praying for your little one to hold on, grow and catch up! ~~HUGS~~

PS - Thanks for the shout out on the other post!
