IVF Drugs

I finally received them all they came via FedEx, UPS, and USPS . The nurse told me the retail value was almost $4000!

Almost everyone of these drugs has a warning label, "Do not use if pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant" ???? This does not play well with my psyche.

I am almost finished with my first pack of BCP. The nurse told me to skip the blank ones and move on the next pack. "What, no period?" She said I didn't have to have one. Well that just doesn't feel natural. I am accustomed to having my period. We're given periods for a reason in nature, right?

I will do as I am told and not question the authority on the matter. I will take these drugs that all have warning labels .

I found your blog on cyclesista. I believe we'll probably have a very similar protocol, except I haven't started my BCP yet, but I should start lupron by mid november. Nice to hear/read your thoughts as you are also facing IVF for the first time. The amount of drugs is scary and I totally agree with you on the warning label thing. Maybe we should just skip that part so our psyches are free to be more positive? I really wish I could get myself to do that, but I guess I'll dive for the labels and leaflets once I get my package in the mail. ;)

All the meds are a little overwhelming, right? Trust me - it goes by quickly! I'm looking forward to hearing all about it!

The drugs are very overwhelming. BUT YOU CAN DO IT!!

I've heard you can skip your period... I'd go with whatever they say. I'd imagine that they prescribe all drugs that are standard and the warning labels are more for the pregnant ladies...

Virginia, thanks for your comment.

I know EXACTLY what you mean with all the drugs. i should have taken a pic of all mine - my bed was FULL of them. The nice thing is seeing the pile diminish as you work through them...

it does seem unnatural to skip a period, but then again nature hasn't exactly worked out for me so far...

that picture sure brings back memories! i have one just like on my blog from almost two years ago and now i'm planning a first birthday party. shut me up if that is enormously irritating but i just wanted to wish you the same luck i had and was hoping to follow along since i'm about to jump back on the ivf bandwagon again soon myself! take care and good luck!!

I'm about to undergo a fourth IUI, with the expectation that we'll move on to IVF next. I'd love for the IUI to work, but it's comforting to know that IVF is an option. Good luck with everything! I'll be reading as you post to see how things are going, knowing that I may be in your shoes in a couple of months.

Fertile thoughts!
